We are proud to announce that the Stand Up World Tour will be coming to the coastal town of Anglet in South West France, from May 8th - 16th. To be held at Chambre d'Amour, the second event on the Stand Up World Tour will witness the world's best arriving in Europe, to meet the very best that Europe has to offer in a spectacular showdown. Until this point, a great deal is known about the talent coming from Hawaii, Tahiti, California and Australia, but the lesser known, but equally as dangerous 'dark horses' to emerge from all over Europe at this event are bound to cause some surprises of epic proportions.
Already, one of France's representatives, Peyo Lizarazu from the Basque country finished 4th in the Sunset Beach Pro, clearly staking his claim in the title race as the Tour moves on to his home breaks and then to the all powerful left of Tahiti. Also to watch out for will be longboard champion Antoine Delpero, established waterman Rico Leroy and big wave rider Stephane Iralour.
4 Wildcards will be awarded to local athletes deserving of a spot in the main event based on the Committee's vote: leading the Committee for this decision is Peyo Lizarazu, who knows more than anyone, the wealth of talent emerging from Europe. In addition, there will be a trials component to the event, allowing people to work there way up and into the main event. For all those interested in entering the trials, please email your name, info and contact details to: This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it . The Stand Up World Tour and all those involved are excited about making their first outing in Europe!
